On 18 and 19 November 2025, the Committee of European Auditing Oversight Bodies (CEAOB) held its 29th plenary meeting in Brussels.
The Cyprus Public Audit Oversight Board (CyPAOB), was represented by the Director General, Mr. Panos Prodromides, Board Member, Mr. Marios Neoptolemou and Audit regulators Kyriaki Andreou and Rafailia Stylianou.
🔹 Adoption of the 2026 CEAOB work programme and the sub-group work plans.
🔹 Presentation of the 2026 Colleges work plans and activities.
🔹 Presentation and discussion on CEAOB’s responses to the European Commission’s DORA review clause relating to statutory auditors and audit firms.
🔹 Decisions on observer status applications from four non-EU countries.
🔹 Insights from IAASA on the audit file review grading system.
🔹 Discussion on Private Equity influence on audit firm governance.
🔹 Updates on AML matters relevant to the audit profession.
🔹 Engagement with academia and key stakeholders including Prof. Brynjar Gilberg, Prof. Willem Buijink, The European Group of International Accountancy Networks and Associations (EGIAN), and Accountancy Europe (ACE) on topics of mutual interest formed part of CEAOB’s stakeholder outreach activities.
