The Auditors Law of 2017 N53(I)2017 is the legislation according to which the CyPAOB exercises its powers since the 2nd of June 2017, and according to which the CyPAOB was designated as the competent authority for the purposes of the Law. More specifically, under article 4 of the Law, a legal person of public law under the name “Cyprus Public Audit Oversight Board” is designated to be the competent authority, which shall exercise the powers, duties and responsibilities arising from the provisions of this Law through its bodies, namely the Board of Directors and the Disciplinary Committee.
