On Wednesday, January 29, 2025, a roundtable discussion was held at the offices of the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) under the theme "Strengthening the Institution of the Cyprus Stock Exchange (CSE)."
The meeting was also attended by officials, senior or top executives from CySEC, the Ministry of Finance, the CSE, the Fiscal Council, the Cyprus Public Audit Oversight Board (CyPAOB), CIPA, SYDEK, CIFA, ICPAC, and CFSFA.
During the discussion, the participating stakeholders presented and discussed various proposals for reviving investor interest and attracting new companies or other investment products to list on the Cyprus Stock Exchange.
The CyPAOB assured its willingness to collaborate with the relevant authorities to implement the decisions taken within its scope of authority. It also highlighted that a key goal of the CyPAOB is to ensure the provision of high-quality financial information for Public Interest Entities (PIEs), including companies whose securities are listed on the regulated market of the Cyprus Stock Exchange, through its supervisory activities concerning mandatory audits by statutory auditors and statutory audit firms.
